Course Overview

From conversations we’ve had with employers, it’s universally agreed that problem solvers are invaluable additions to any team.

Excellent candidates for these kinds of roles are do-ers – the people that simply get things done. People with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude. Yet in our experience, many courses around the subject of Business Administration focus too heavily on knowledge share - ‘what’ business administrator roles involve.

Employers are seeking to recruit people that can solve problems. This requires more than simply ‘what’ – it means first asking ‘why’ – so why is a system not working, or why are customers feeling frustrated. And then the ‘how’ - how can we resolve it.

The title of the course includes the word ‘solutions’ and our learners will develop themselves as solution creators. They will learn techniques that enable them to solve problems and practise them so that by the end of the course, they will possess the confidence to showcase their skills at job interviews and then in-role.

Our Diploma in Digital Solutions for Business is designed  for those students looking to start a career in the following roles:

Business Administrator
Receptionist
Office Manager
By the end of the course, learners will have developed the skills and experiences required to enter several different job roles. The underlying factor will be an ability to identify and solves problems through working autonomously but communicating effectively.

Benefits for study centres

Why you Should Deliver it

Inspiring Learning Experiences
We provide all our study centres with a full set of high-quality learning materials based around the qualification's syllabus. Combining that with excellent tutors at your centre, your learners will receive an inspiring learning experience.

Employability
We all recognise the imperative on getting learners their 'career' job of choice. Our qualification design process is anchored to current Job Descriptions of those roles. This means you deliver the skills & knowledge employers are needing today.

Progression Opportunities
Our qualifications are designed as excellent stepping stones to further progression upon completion. We will provide continuation courses at Level 4 for many of our Level 3 qualifications, whilst our Level 7 learners can easily progress to a master's degree. We are looking to announce articulation agreements with several U.K. and U.S. universities in the coming months.

Attractive Fee Structure
We will be seeking to secure funding for the qualification in due course and since we provide all of the learning materials, this significantly reduces a study centre's resources.

Aligning to Skills and Digital Strategies
All of our qualifications have work based skills at their heart. We believe this is the best way to prepare learners for the world of work. Furthermore, the U.K. Government is prioritising digital skills across the educational offer. All our qualifications address that strategy.

How is it Delivered?

The Diploma is studied at an approved study centre provider and is equivalent to 120 credits, all at RQF Level 3, should they wish to continue studying beyond the successful completion of the course. Subject to approval by our Centre Evaluation Team, study centres can deliver our qualifications using the following modes of delivery:

Classroom based -
Full-time or Part-time

Part-time learners must receive the same number of Guided Learning Hours (GLH) as full-time learners and have the same assessment methods. Learners simply have longer to complete the qualification.

Blended learning

Blended learning comprises a combination of face-to-face delivery with some remote delivery which will typically be through online learning. For BQSL to approve blended learning, at least 25% of the delivery must be face-to-face. This will allow for practical course work, group work and practical elements of assessments that require a physical presence. Face-to-face can be delivered in an online environment. More typically, we would expect delivery to be in the classroom. Also, blended learning requires the same GLH as classroom delivery and learners will face the same assessment methods.

Online

The online qualification is a separate qualification suffixed with (online) at the end of the title. Online qualifications typically have a lower number of GLH and may use different methods of assessment. However, both the TQT and syllabus will be the same and the means of assessment will have been evaluated and approved for equivalency (to its classroom based alternative).

Learner and Centre Commitments

Each Level 3 Diploma can be studied at an approved study centre provider over three terms. They are equivalent to 75 credits, all at RQF Level 3, should they wish to continue studying beyond the successful completion of the course.

The total qualification time (TQT) for each course is 750 hours and the total guided learning hours (GLH) are 240 hours. This equates to 8 hours of guided learning per week if taught over 3x10 week terms. This provides learners with the flexibility to work part-time alongside studying for the qualification.

Assessment is undertaken using a breadth of methods to reflect the practical nature of the diploma. These include practical applications; role play; group presentations; self-reflection; computer tests and case study reports. There are no exams with this course.

BQSL provides its study centres with course materials and set the assessments. Centres are required to deliver those materials, oversee assessments, and provide first marking and moderation. Entry requirements are: Mathematics at GCSE (or equivalent) and either English at GCSE or a score of 5.5 or above in an International English Language Testing System exam, or equivalent.
